10-18-2013 Trading Journal

Market had another up day and it stayed up too!

I had been keeping an eye on $TINY, a stock I held for awhile but abandoned due to lack of motion (aka dead money).  However, recent chart actions seemed to suggest some blow-up was about to happen.  Therefore, I bought some starter position to keep an eye on it.  If it takes off in the near future, I’ll add more.

$GOGO was going the wrong way so I placed a stop below the lower opening range.  Needless to day, I was stopped out.

$INO was also down from yesterday and the daily chart looked like it was forming a bearish evening doji star pattern; so I sold my position for breakeven.

$CCJ continued the uptrend from yesterday so I bought a starter position to see if a bottom was being established.

$CYCC was looking good at the morning but price began to collapse not long afterward, I finally sold my position before giving back all my gain.  At least, I got to keep some gain when I sold.

$KGJI was also correcting but I decided to hold on to this one instead of selling.  I see long-term potential so I am not going to trade around this one.

Due to $KGJI big correction, my portfolio took some hit but was cushion by small gains on my other positions.

Current holdings:

LRAD, KNDI, CERS, GALE, AMRN, KGJI, CCJ, APRI, TINY, CLIR and 21% cash.

  1. Thank you for taking the time and effort to write this journal. As a novice I find it really useful.
I sold kgji as I couldn’t take the beating.

    • Thank you for your comment. I’m glad you find my journal helpful. As to $KGJI, because I’m still in the green on this one, I can afford to hold it a bit longer; but if it continues to head south, I may bail too.

      Cheers!
